# New followers on social media is not showing >28 days

New followers metric for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media platforms is only available for 28 days.

Many customers frequently inquire about their reports not successfully retrieving year-to-date data for 'new Instagram followers.'  

New followers data is only brought for the **last 28 days.**  
  
And we have a complementary metric, which is total followers, that will show you your current follower number to date.  
  
We will implement storage for that specific metric in a few months so you can see the audience growth over time.  
  
I have an alternative for you. You can use our [Google Chrome Extension](https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/porter_marketing_data_connector_for_goog/209986548450) to create a query that will report new followers daily.
