This article will lead you through the process of setting up and connecting your data for the first time with Porter Metrics.
Every connector offers a 14-day free trial.
There will be more connectors on the way. Here is our road map.
There are three ways to get started with a free trial:
1. On our website, through our Make a report calls to action.
2. Our connectors get activated when you make a copy of one of our report templates
3. By finding Porter connectors on the Google Data Studio connectors gallery.
Your free trial will only start when you successfully connect data with our connectors to a Google Data Studio report.
How to start a trial?
Starting a trial with us is as easy as clicking on the Make a report button in the top right corner of our website.
Then, choose a connector you want to report with. You have a 14-days free trial for each one.
You’ll be re-directed to Google Data Studio.
Here, you must authorize Porter to connect to your Gmail account.
A pop-up window will appear, where you'll need to
Access with your account
Provide permissions for porter to connect with your account
Select the base pages/accounts you want or report
Quick tip: in this step we strongly suggest to select all the accounts intead of specific ones for those who report more than one client/account to be able to switch between them later: otherwise you'll need to
Erase permissions from facebook
Revoke the connector and repeat this procedure from start to select another account to report.
Accept the linking with porter connector
Click on the "Next choose your account" green button
Close the "You are now connected with Porter" screen,
then Scroll down and select the accounts you want to add to the report
REMEMBER: Once you selected your accounts click on all the checkboxes that you'll see in the right side,
Then connect
Allow
This will open the a new tab with the fields list, click "Create report", then "Create report" twice.
And it's done!
Have this in mind!
Be sure that you are authorizing the same Gmail account that you are currently signed into. If you have a problem switching Gmail accounts, try using an incognito window to sign in.
We only get your email to associate with your Porter account; we don't collect or use any other personal information.

Common questions
Do I need a credit card for my trial?
You don't need to have a credit card for your trial. To get started, simply sign in with your Gmail account.
Will the dashboards I created on my trial still work when it is over?
No, until you upgrade.
This error will appear on your data, indicating that your trial has expired. To upgrade your Porter account, follow this guide.
Once you upgrade, your data will be retrieved normally.
